CHAPTER 11

Looking back into the forest, Alessandria couldn't stop herself from focusing on every thick tree and twisted roots for the possible chance of the witches attacking them again. Not that Alessandria could do anything.

Sure she had some magic in her but that only allowed her to force people to tell the truth or see if they were lying. Not very useful skills of course if you're fighting powerful witches.

Feeling Nemesio's smooth fingers gently stroke her shoulder, she turned around to look at the impressive waterfall in front.

Alessandria smiled as she remembered jumping into the water as a child with her friends.

The waterfall must have been about twenty metres high with hundreds of litres of gushing water flowing every second.

The sound of it was immense. Alessandria could barely hear herself think.

It was beautiful though. As was the rocky circle around it with the pool of calm water at the bottom.

Hellen stepped close to the water and tasted some of it. She spat it out and shook her head.

Alessandria started to wonder what they were doing here. There was nothing. Nothing except droplets of water coating her skin and dampening her long hair.

At the least it was refreshingly warm.

The smell of sea salt made her puzzled but understand now why Hellen had spat the water out.

Feeling Nemesio standing next to her, Alessandria really wanted to lean into him and feel his heartbeat. But at the end of the day, she was their leader. And there was still something telling her loudly not to. Nemesio was the right man for her something told her. She just didn't know what.

Hellen gasped and shot back away from the water.

She grabbed her stick.

The water in the pool bubbled.

Alessandria grabbed her and stepped back.

She and Nemesio whipped out their swords.

The water bubbles immensely.

Something rose up.

A long scaly white neck covered in thick salt. It was like the white head of a dragon. Immense dagger like teeth shone in the sunlight.

Massive waves of water rushed off it.

The creature roared.

Revealing a massive salt-covered tongue.

Its large red eyes saw Hellen.

It charged at her.

Alessandria rushed over.

Swinging her sword into it.

Shards of salt smashed off.

The creature whipped its neck around.

Knocking Alessandria metres back.

The creature charged at her.

Nemesio stormed over.

The monster saw him. It screamed launching balls of salt at him.

Nemesio dived out the way.

Hellen whacked the monster with her stick.

Shards of salt shattered.

Hellen whacked it again.

A ball of salt shot out.

Hitting her in the stomach.

She collapsed to the ground.

She looked to be in agony.

Alessandria’s eyes widened. Her rage built up.

Nemesio looked at her.

Alessandria nodded.

They both charged together.

The monster swung its mighty neck.

It hit Alessandria.

She landed with a thud on the ground.

Her hands hurting from the impact on the smooth wet rocks.

The neck slowed.

Allowing Nemesio to thrust his sword in its neck.

The monster screamed and screamed.

Alessandria jumped up.

Charging over to the creature.

It focused on her.

Allowing Hellen to whack its eye with her massive stick.

The monster screamed once again.

Salty grainy white blood poured from its eye.

Alessandria kept running.

She jumped into the air.

Aiming her sword.
